Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

CurbMinder ("CurbMinder," "we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application that helps drivers in Los Angeles avoid street-sweeping parking citations. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app does and does not handle. It applies to the CurbMinder Android and iOS applications and this website.

2. No accounts, no sign-up

CurbMinder does not require you to create an account. There is no sign-up, no email address, no username, and no password. You install the app and use it. Because there is no account, we do not maintain a user profile that identifies you.

3. Location is processed on your device only

To tell you where you parked and which side of the street you are on, CurbMinder uses your device's location and, if you enable it, your car's Bluetooth connection state as a "you parked" signal.

Your location is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party. The app resolves your position against a snapshot of the City of Los Angeles's public street and street-sweeping data that is bundled inside the app itself. No network connection is used to determine your parking spot, and we operate no server that receives your location.

4. What is stored on your device

The following are stored locally on your device and remain there:

• Your recent and current parking locations (block and side of street).
• Any corrections you make through the "Are we wrong?" flow.
• Your app settings and notification/alarm preferences.

This information is not uploaded to us. It stays on your device unless you choose to share it (for example, by including a screenshot in a support email).

5. Diagnostics and analytics we do collect

To keep the app working and understand how it is used, CurbMinder includes Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase, provided by Google. Through these services we may collect:

• Crash reports and diagnostic data (including stack traces and the state of the app at the time of a crash).
• Device model, operating system and version, and app version.
• Pseudonymous identifiers (such as an app-instance ID) used to group events.
• Coarse usage events, such as which screens are opened and which features are used.

These diagnostics never include your precise location. We use this information solely to diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve the app. Google processes this data as our service provider; see Google's privacy documentation for how Firebase handles data.

6. What we don't do

• We do not share your data with anyone other than the diagnostic service providers described above.
• We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
• We do not serve advertising in the app.
• We do not build advertising profiles or track you across other apps or websites.

7. Data retention and deletion

Because your parking data lives on your device, you can delete all of it by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling removes locally stored parking history, corrections, and settings.

Diagnostic and analytics data collected through Firebase is retained according to Google's default retention periods for those products. If you would like us to request deletion of diagnostic data associated with your app instance, contact us at privacy@curbminder.com and we will act on your request as described in Sections 9 and 10.

8. Children's privacy

CurbMinder is a parking utility intended for licensed drivers. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.

9. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you rights regarding personal information, including the rights to know, to access, to delete, and to correct personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.

We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would require an opt-out. Because we do not collect your location or maintain an account, the personal information we hold is limited to the diagnostic data described in Section 5. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@curbminder.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

10. Your rights in the EEA and UK (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability. Our legal basis for processing diagnostic data is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app; where required, we rely on your consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@curbminder.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the app or on this website. Your continued use of CurbMinder after an update means you accept the revised policy.
